A previous thread discussed how bad this new series was -I nearly didn't watch the first episode I'd recorded -I'm glad I did -its really good! It was criticized as being difficult to follow especially if you had not read the book -I find it easy to follow, with good acting and some intrigues to come. Certainly better than the new Poldark offering was. Has anyone else watched it and liked it despite nearly been put off by critics on AB and in the Press?

I've watched each episode, so far, and i must say that it looked very promising, at first, but does seem to have lost it's way a little over the last couple of episodes. As you say, it is quite intriguing and it is that which will have me watching the rest of it.
I think it is fabulous and in many ways better than the book , which I found heavy going.

Just my sort of programme.
I haven't read the book but am thoroughly enjoying the series.

It's hard to please all of the people all of the time - I wouldn't watch Poldark for money, but have seen people raving about it & on another thread I was the only person that thought TFI was dreadful the other night.
I've liked what I've seen, but keep missing it.
I'm enjoying it. Its a very difficult book to bring to the screen...I think a lot of imagination is required both to read and watch it.
O_G - they're available on iPlayer -

Cheers. I'll have to designate some iplayer time.
It's all personal opinion, of course....and I don't agree with you.
I have watched it, but am still struggling with it. A young friend loves it, but I can't say the same. I think I'm sticking with it just to see what happens. It worries more than entertains me, and think they are playing dangerous games with sinister 'magic'. Could it be an age thing? I'm 74 but my friend is in her early 40s.
Watched the first episode and did not want to watch more
But it's going to clash with Humans.
4+1 for Humans
Shall be on the road then.
Thank goodness for the Internet :-)
I enjoy that sort of drama the costumes and acting are good, you can almost smell the dust and sweat, but MrAsk isn't so keen. Humans will be our choice tonight I've read the intro so we shall see....
Well, I stuck with it until the end but have to admit I didn't really enjoy it. I found a summary of the story on line, and that helped a lot. I just wonder why some people thought it was so good. What have I missed?
