Bluetooth Has Stopped Working On My Sony Vaio Windows 7

I've been trying for hours to connect my bluetooth speaker and when I turn it on then hit "bluetooth devices" the circle spins only for a little while before doing nothing where before it would spin until I got the bluetooth tab.

What the hell is going on and how/if can I fix it?

Have you put your speaker into 'discoverable' mode? Usually by holding down one of the buttons on the speaker.

Yes but it appears the problem is with my computer as the speaker works fine with my phone.
