im on a diet now, hi protein low carbs ( ok i have beer but its coors lite... LOL )

so i had a chicken and bacon salad today , not nice as i put honey and mustard dressing over it from one of them tesco squeezy bottles.

give me a few pointers here, what sauces go with what , i was going to buy basmalti vinegar yesterday i seen it and it said it was good for salad dressing , i mean how do these resturants make me a lovely salad, even an airplane meal has nice salad served but i can never get my own to taste the same.

no way, my cooking could not be that bad , i take my time and prepare everything right .

Did you mean balsamic vinegar? Good luck, I hate salads!
Balsamic dressing (not vinegar) is nice on peppery leaves like rocket and spinach and tastes nice with feta cheese and radish added
I like french vinaigrette dressing on sweet leaves like iceberg and beet with carrot added
Go to a website such as BBC Good Food or delicious magazine and go through the different salad recipes there.

My best advice is to prepare different salad recipes, such as Greek or Thai noodle, rather than the old fashioned British tradition of lettuce, tomato, cucumber with a slice of ham on the side. By really varying the nature of the salads it takes much longer for the boredom to set in.
For olivey yucky nonsense, Caesar dressing. BLEURGH!
to be honest though, you can't go far wrong with a squeeze of lemon and some salt and pepper
A sprinkle of toasted sesame oil with soy sauce is really nice and tangy on seafood salads.
What about a bean salad? Beans are high in protein and if you use tomatoes and let it rest you won't need a dressing.
Hellmans do a fat free vinegarette in my Tesco which is nice on salad. Tesco also do a range of "healthy living" stuff.....moroccan sauce, cesaer sauce, balsamic, honey and mustard, all very low fat.

Had a big salad the other day and tipped a small tin of mackerel into it. You could also use prawns or hard boiled eggs. A few halved grapes are nice in a salad too.
And nuts are nice in salads.
