Got into a conversation with a wee girl who is new - I asked her what job she was in before - worked as a receptionist in a doctor's surgery - that would have been my dream job but couldn't do it with the hearing problem you know answering phones and medication.
I said why did you not like it - she said the foreigners were an absolutely a nightmare - demanding this and that and take it out on the receptionists and doctors alike. Also the drug and drink issue "if you don't give me my effing tablets I am going to hang myself. But she said the worse of the patients were Indian men - they were asking things that referred to maybe pharmaceutical companies. Now I was never racist but I think I am changing my mind. No wonder the doctors are leaving - who could cope with that strain. God bless them.

You state that as a result of the conversation you are changing your mind as to being racist. You named foreigners as being an absolute nightmare, addicts as being demanding and the WORST patients to be Indian men! And now you want to attempt to take the moral high ground.
Perhaps you should reconsider posts of a racist nature before you make them if you are going to decline to comment further.

they are money lenders but they only lend the money that the other people save in it. We are doing very well as we have taken on 3 other CUs due to "problems" - we now have 15,000 members - am just in from a meeting just found out we have 7 paid workers and 54 volunteers - that is a lot of saving from the volunteers. have worked for 35-36 years now.
I was started by the people and run by the people initially but due to high numbers - it had to start and pay out a little.

an update, i know you have been waiting....
there was a dodgy looking gang of oldies, discussing something, i was hoping it would be "things that reffered to pharmaceutical companies" as one of them was mr shah from the PO, so i sidled up and took a chair behind them, hoping to be enlighted
well mr shah has gout and his wife has put him on a restricted diet which he is not happy about and he was hoping that the results of the blood test will be good so she'll ease up on him. various other ailments were named and discussed, i learnt a surprising amount....
no-one came in demanding drugs or they'd hang themselves - one chap did get a bit agitated when booking a blood test, the receptionist asked him if he'd like a morning or afternoon appointment and he wasn't sure what would be best and his wife wasn't there to check with so he was going to have to ring back later
i did have to wait 25 mins past my appointment time but i was sitting i n a sunny spot amusing myself so i can live with it
