Can I Re-Train My Leg Muscles

Ok. My daughter is getting married in February of next year.

I feel I simply cannot wear flat shoes on such a stupendous occasion. Can I re-train my leg muscles to get them used to a higher heel? I was thinking of wearing a heel for a period of time, regularly, to stretch my leg muscles.

Would this work? If not, it's a walking stick for me. :(

Isn't that what foolish young girls when they first start off ?

I can't see why it would not work. As long as you don't pull anything in the meanwhile. And if you don't, maybe with those high heels you can at the wedding !
I'm generally a flats person but when I wear heels it's my feet that will start aching, not my legs.
I didn't wear heels for ages after hip replacement. I started wearing them in the house for an hour per day and gradually increased the time and height. I'd still take a pair of lower heels for the dancing!
High Heels don't stretch the calf muscles, they bunch them up.

Start with a low heel and every now and then up it a little to keep the muscles more attuned to differing heights.

Yes - take pretty dancing pumps for the evening.

Ah ha! That's what I wanted to hear, maggiebee. Preparation starts, tomorrow. :))

Flats will be taken for the evening.

Will do, mamya.
You can get some lovely fancy wedge heels now which will give you the height and "grace", but you might feel more confident walking in them than in shoes wit that tiny plastic tip.... And they'll better for the photographs on the grass!
