Hi..this is a common problem thats been around for along time (the old Sega Game Gear used to get this) Ok...heres the deal.....LCD screens are made up of thousands of tiny pixels each of these pixels contains three sub pixels of red green and blue. Giving your LCD screen millions of dots in total. Behind each one is a transistor. When one of these transistors fails its stays as a permanent light dark or coloured dot on your screen. Because of the nature of LCD screens it is near impossible to have a screen without a few of these failures. LCD sceen manufacturers have a tolerance level for this. Should your screen have more transistor failures than the tolerance level the manufacturer will accept the TV back as a failed device. The number of stuck pixels required before the manufacturer will take the screen back does vary between company to company so you have to check with them. Heres an example. On the Nintedo DS, it's just 1 pixel and they'll take it back but on the Sony PSP it's 3.

Its a Matsui LCD Flatscreen tv from Currys. In all honesty its not imposing and deosnt get in the way, just more worried about it getting worse.
If it's dead then as kevb says, there's nothing you can do about it. It won't grow by itself and get worse, but other pixels may randomly go too.

However, the pixel could just to stuck (perhaps, but it may be dead). This sort of thing can sometimes unstick stuck pixels:

So if you can figure out a way of getting that video onto your tv (maybe if your laptop has a tv/monitor out or something), then you could try that.

cool, thanks! How can you tell the difference between a cell that is stuck or dead??

It sounds like the red and blue segments of the pixel have died if you're getting green when it should be white. That's because white is made up of all three colours fully 'on'. The term for your pixel is a 'stuck pixel'. Whether it's a cause for complaint under guarantee depends on the manufacturer - some will not acknowledge the screen's faulty unless there are more than 5 bad pixels! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_pixel

It's unlikely that this will cause any further problems. A bad pixel doesn't have any effect on the ones next to it.
