Soft Close Seat

I am of course referring to a toilet seat.....the one in question works fine- except it's a 'top' fixing and one of the posts has gone slack, causing the seat to wander sideways which is very annoying!
Problem is, I cannot remove the post cover to gain access to tighten the screw....Have tried two screwdrivers simultaneously-won't budge.
Any suggestions welcome.

Sorry can't help you Matheus except to say when you do get it off, replace it with a Bemis toilet seat - they don't move.
