This woman, who made controversial comments about the Child Abuse scandals in Oldham, Rochdale and Rotherham has received a £134,000 payoff, only to be rehired on nearly £1,000 a day contract (payable to her Consultancy, therefore lowering her tax bill). The Quango she worked for is to be fined because the Treasury was not consulted. As Quangos are run on public money so the fine will be pays by.........us!

The Bonfire of the Quangoes was another policy that they reneged on.
yes Linda-la-la
that is how the world works

well that is how nationalised industries "work"
there is an old victorian phrase - jobs for the boys

which can be catchily retitled - jobs for the girls

People 'bed' into these jobs and form the expectation they should have them for life - the Quango is tobe nlamed for not following its own rules

I agree about the "Bonfire of Quangoes". Let's hope they do something this term. Did the Libdums hold them back?

nope - you know all those dead mothers in some maternity hospital and no one knew what the picture was for the rest of the country ?

That was because the tri-ennial maternal mortality committee had gone up in smoke ( intentionally by the way - it used to cause trouble )

You know the dead baby scandal the one oop North ? and no one knew what the picture was for the rest of the country ?
that was because the infant mortality committee had gone up in smoke

that was quite a good research committee and had paired cases - one dead and one picked at random who was er alive

The minister involved ( OK mandarin who had read French Lit and economic history at uni ) wanted to know why the second cost twice as much as the first ( paired cases - geddit ? ) and so the first cut was to halve the budget of the infant committee

Both now dont exist

I lived thro this

Yes that's it, the Libdums held them back
A lot of these women on 6 figure salaries seem to be getting 'found out', not fit for purpose. Is it possible that Labour(mainly) councils have over-promoted them because of their gender?

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head!

Very true Gromit. Not seen any mention of it either 'now the pesky liberals are out the way'.

A bonfire of Quangos is definitely required.
