Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been named the League Manager's 'Manager of the year' after his side won the Championship Division. He is only the second manager from outside the top flight to have this honour bestowed upon him since 1992 - emulating Steve Coppell, in 2006, who was then manager of Reading.

Congrats also go to Jose Mourhino (Premiership award), Steve Cotterill of Bristol City (League 1) and Gareth Ainsworth of Wycombe (League 2).

How do you decide who to give an award to? Arguably, Eddie Howe did a good job, BUT, he had wads and wads of cash behind him

Bournemouth are owned by a Russian oligarch or Saudi oil prince, or something similar
Wads and wads?

I don't think Bournemouth have gone overboard with the cash.
He's Russian and Bournemouth were near bankrupt and on the verge of collapse only 5 years ago. Eddie Howe has done a brilliant job, as far as I know they certainly haven't spent loads on topflight players,.
"Although the Cherries can boast of having a Russian owner, it's fair to say that they've not broken the bank to reach the promised land. Record signing Callum Wilson was snapped up for £3million from Coventry and only came after the Cherries had sold Lewis Grabban to Norwich City for a similar sum."
