How can I stop the sound of a keystroke? It's driving me mad. TIA

It is actually the sound made from a click on the integrated mouse
In Windows 8.1 (and possibly in earlier version) there's an option for ‘Beep when keys are pressed or accepted’. Perhaps you've somehow engaged it. See here:

Thanks Chris but there is no solution apparently, it's just a mechanical click rather than a 'sound'. There is an option to press the centre of the mouse pad lightly which makes no noise
