I'm not being serious. Great day's cricket for England. And of course, typically, it turns out that some weirdos are jumping all over Cook for not declaring or being aggressive enough to allow for five overs at NZ before close of play. At 11.01 this morning we were in danger of losing by an innings for crying out loud! No pleasing some people it seems. Against a side rated quite highly it seems sensible to play it safe and just bat NZ out of the game if possible rather than give them a one-day chase scenario that would just play to their strengths.

Shame that Root didn't make a century as well but for him the runs keep on coming. Should have a great chance of setting some records of fastest to 3,000, 4,000 etc. runs.
