In line with advice from others I removed the egg from the boiling
water and placed it in a bowl of cold water.
I then tapped it on either end & also used the 'rolling' method.
I still have trouble peeling the shell off in the single movement
I'm told is possible.

Any tips please?

make sire you pull the very thin membrane off that is just under the shell and covering the egg .
Type Your Answer Here...Strange as it seems, this really does work...

Just give it a few bashes so that the shell is broken into small pieces. It will all peel off quite easily.
As you can see..
The egg is probably too fresh. I have to leave the eggs my hens lay a week before I can use them for hard boiled eggs.

Thanks clanad but it looked as though he was left with just the yolk!
