....Cameron is heralding a Greater Britain.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32659720

If the past five years is anything to go by this means no doubt greater unemployment, greater numbers of soup kitchens, greater child poverty, greater Bankers' bonuses, greater wealth for Fat Cats, greater gap between rich and poor, greater gap between North and South, etc etc.

What's happened has happened, the best soldiers won, we should tak it like the Brits we are and stop complaining as there is nothing we can do / say that will change, My memory is not the best at remembering events such as promises that each party make, It will be very interesting 6 months from today what other cuts are about to happen, I wonder if each & every Tax evaders get sorted, the Non Doms get sorted, will the likes of our loyal hard overwork nurses get above 1% pay rise, will the Zero Hrs still be here, will all the MPs refuse their freebies such as Drinks / Lunches, will the MPs instead of flying around the world 1st class for meetings that could be conducted via the Internet, also WORK for their large salary's as others struggle, will the new government sort out the very big problem that's occurring in Spain with the Boat people coming in their 1000s? my comment's are by no means sour grapes, the best "Put Forward debates' through out the country had taken place & labour should have put their best forward but there we go.
Very nice Ummmm :::::

Doesn't like like a "grim hole" to be...what does it look like to you ?
Have you been watching 'Skint' set in the Valleys? The surrounding area was stunning...but you wouldn't have wanted to live there.
No I haven't Umm, but do you think that Gower looks like a "grim hole" ?
Calm down lefties............under this government it appears we will have Jam tomorrow, jam in 5 years and most importantly ....Jam Today!

Labour is finished

It's Jam forever.........yay!
I'm from the valleys - it's pretty grim.
Mikey....you've posted about the Gower Peninsula...from wiki it says it's 70 square mile. That's a large area. No council estates nearby?
The surrounding area looks stunning, Sher, but the housing estates do look grim indeed.
The estate where it was filmed was grim 30 years ago, I dread to think what it's like now. Most areas are not like that but there are some sink council estates dotted around in depressing locations that are virtual no-go areas.
//In 1956, it became the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This preceeded National Park status. //

The National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act was enacted in 1949, and the first national park (the peak district) was designated in 1951. Not entirely sure how 1956 precedes that?
Oh Canary42 how so right you are.
Within Wales Mush was what I meant.
OK, Wales.

snowdonia was designated national park status in 1951, and the pembrokeshire coast in 1952.

Yeah & all with the compliments of OAGs & TTTs & several other A/Bers lovely lady & the glorious Tory party.
whiskeryron, now you've mentioned the valleys in the context of "compliments from ...... the glorious Tory Party", lets not forget how the labour government treated the victims of Aberfan in 1966. in a breathtaking act of cynicism, they permitted the coal board to appropriate £150,000 from the disaster fund to help deal with removal of the tips; additionally, they caused the bereaved to have to prove they were close to their deceased relatives, before any compensation payments were made.
Is it just me or do any other ABers agree that from the general opinions we read, there has been a tremendous amount of rose tinted spectacles bought of late ? Now that Dave has been generously given a mandate to work his magic on the country see how long it will take for the soup kitchens to multiply & the NHS ( which is safe in his hands) to fall apart & be taken over by the helping hands of private enterprise.

Mikey, //do you think that Gower looks like a "grim hole" ? //

That's not the view from your house though. You told us you're surrounded by council houses that keep the value of your property down.
