There is a 40 year school reunion coming and I was wandering whether to go or not. I have never been to one before but I have not heard good reports about some of them ie who has accumulated the most money, got the biggest house, best career? Chatting up and flirting. Has anyone been to one and is it worth going?

I went to an all girls school and we had 25 and 35 year reunions, the first one being at our old school. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them it was great catching up with everybody.
No one has ever been interested in what I've been up to.
Anyway I am no longer in the same locale so I doubt I'd be interested in making special journeys anyway.
I would be afraid that no one would remember who I was.
I went to a reunion of a football team I played for in the 1980s. It was great to catch up with them (17 turned up, 15 of whom I hadn't seen since I left the club). I wouldn't dream of ever going to a school reunion. I hated school, and most of the blokes I went to school with.
I went to one. I had a lovely time and met some really nice people. Only one person asked me what I do. People weren`t interested in what you do and how much money you`ve got but then again, this was in North Devon and people (locals anyway) tend not to be pretentious. All they wanted to know was if I still live in the area. I`d quite happily do it again.
To be reunited with what would probably be a group of old harpies-- no way !
i´d be in no rush to go to one,not good school memories, best part was when i left!!
I' It seems ve never been to a reunion, but I belong to the old pupils' association, and I've enjoyed making contact with some of them again via FB.
I thoroughly enjoyed mine. It was great looking round the old school building with friends and remembering the things we got up to. Lol.
.

My brother and sister in law went to theirs ( they met at skool ) and enjoyed it. My year ( four years below) werent that co-hesive and I didnt bother
.
No I was bullied at another skool and have no inclination to relive old times and what they got up to with me ....

[bright kid who was no good at games]
I'm still friends with my school friends.
I'd rather stick wasps up my ***. I'm FB friends with some and they all seem to have a certain 'look' about them (like they've been tangoed), have big hair and wear lots of make-up (it was a girls' school I should add). I grew up in the valleys and there seems to be people who stay and people who never go back (I'm in the second group).
40 years down the line - looking at constant reminders of what I look 40 years down the line. No school re-union for me.
