I have stayed with Saga for my new car and arranged for my policy, already in situ, to be transferred to it, tomorrow.

I was told late this afternoon that the new car won't be ready until, Tuesday.

Should I ring Saga and change the dates and will this cost me anything?

Thanks

I would definitely ring Saga, chrissa. I'd like to think that there should be no charge, but not sure about that.

As I'd paid for the whole year until November, they charged me £47 admin charge. Hopefully there won't be anymore to pay.
4 days. Is it really worth bothering?
chrissa, do you not have a car at all until Tuesday ?.
Question Author
That's what I was thinking, Hopkirk. Living in rural Northumberland and basically using my car to walk the dog, I'd probably get away with it

Yes, tonyav, I still have my old car. The salesman is going to deliver the new car to me and take mine away, as he lives up near me.
Oh hang on.

If you mean you will be driving the old car uninsured until then, don't do it.

Big fine, points on licence and car impounded.
Question Author
Ha ha. Yes, Hopkirk. I thought that that was implicit in my question.

Ok. I'll ring Saga tomorrow. I hope there open on Saturdays.
... or just don't drive the old car.
If your gonna be driving your old car until Tuesday I'd get in touch with Saga, chrissa.

Not drive my car???? No, no, no. Lol. I'll ring. Thanks, both.
A little tip if I may Chrissa, fully check the car for marks / scratches / dents / Equipment when you receive it.
....did Saga charge another admin fee for adjusting the dates? Hope not.....but wouldn't be surprised!

Just changed the insurance over the phone, so my old car is now insured until Tuesday. There was no charge and I might even get a couple of quid back as my old car is older. Lol

Thanks TWR. My son came with me. It has a couple of scratches, but then it's 10 years old. The first car that I looked atand had a lower mileage but, when my son opened the oil filler cap there was brown sludge on it and he said that, right there, is the reason not to buy the car - oil and water mixing.

The car I chose had none of that and the oil was a rich black colour. It drove really well, too.

So, all done and dusted.
just leave it, they'll charge you another admin fee.
ok wrote that before reading all the answers, I'm amazed they didn't charge you again!
