Anyone else think that the 'detective' series Vera is one big yarn?

All right it ticks all the diversity boxes, black actors, disable actor, Muslim actor mixed marriage, etc.

But it is so slow and boring, and 'Vera's' voice and shabby clothes, what can one say? except it takes up 2 hours of peak viewing time.

He must have religious affiliation radar.
Radio plays must be so frustrating.
Oh I don't know, Mamya......one needs to use imagination with a radio play.... think where that could lead!.............:-0
That was actually my point - you can't say 'ooh look there's a black person' 'Hecky thump , there's a silent Muslim'.
that's where the radar comes in handy, you don't need to see the person, you just know!
Hmm.....well I always had my suspicions about that Dixon of Dock Green!
lol he his all sorts of things under that hat.
Did he have a long straggly beard and a dress on?
Oh George had hidden depths alright.
I have really enjoyed Vera although I simply watch and enjoy it rather than ticking mental boxes. The cop show I really miss is Inspector Linley.
Ah so you watch the box more like I do then, Linley was good too.
I can't understand her squeaking!
It must be exhausting analysing every cast member and PCnessness. I just sit back and enjoy the programme or not, as the case may be.
I watched the first episode of the first series and thought what a load of rubbish it was. So boring I nearly fell asleep!

/// I still want to know how AOG knew that the man he referred to is a
Muslim. ///

Who said the actor was a man?

It was in fact a female and I identified her as a Muslim since she was wearing a Hijab.
it's about the only programm i watch on ITV, and i like it. It is quite slow (after all they do have to fill up 2 hours - minus ad breaks of course) but i like that!
I love Vera...hope there are many more.
I reckon the hijab gave it away, aog. Perhaps the ladies weren't paying attention. ;)
