Not impossible,depending on the stage of dementia could be very stressful. Some advice on this site.

yes, but depends how far on, how well briefed and prepared, the issue being do they know where they are going or with whom....

Adventure can be fun, if folk who are close to them are there.
They will normally have someone travelling with them. I have never come across a dementia sufferer who was travelling alone.
