Last night I was visiting on this occasion the telly was on .The people were fans of BGT .so had to watch (how do you tell your family that) Any way I could not get it out of my mind these makers presenters were just just using and mocking the majority of the people .Im sure the folk did it for a laugh them selves but what have the panel brought to the table of entertainment them selves .only good thing about thank heavens Caldwell or what ever they call him did not take up acting ,that dog thing was just stupid

I so agree, weecalf. I haven't watched it for years, but I used to. The "judges" used the same tricks year on year to try to amuse the viewers and the audience by using "look at this fool" facial expressions and gestures. What really annoys me is when they bring on a very young person who has not yet acquired the social experience or the cynicism to know what is going on. It is the modern, highly sophisticated version of charging the rich to go into the asylums and mock the unsuspecting innocents there. And people say the "acts", if they are adults, know what they are doing and are old enough to make up their own minds. But there is a lot of psychological manipulation goes on with the offer of glory in the form of fame and fortune, and in the slick, glamorous, glitzy presentation of the show. I think it is a disgrace.

Can't agree.....the best acts are sensational and some of the worst acts are so bad that their are hilarious.

To most people it is entertaining and all prospective talents good or bad know the score as far as judging goes.

A bit of mockery and criticism does no harm to the majority of people and may be even described as " character building."

It's not the humiliation which, in some cases is justified, it's the Grounhog Day nature of the programme. Always a dance act, always a dog act, always a poor comedian, always someone who can't sing.......yawn.

They are not unsuspecting innocents. Even the young have watched BGT and XFactor so know what to expect.

Some have real talent, some are completely deluded and some want their 5 minutes of fame.

The funniest dog act was the dog that kept attacking Ant.

Ummmm, I didn't say the acts on BGT were unsuspecting innocents. I said the people in the asylums were unsuspecting innocents. Maybe you disagree with that?

Paying to see people in asylums is way before my time :-)
