Yes it would by it's action on lowering your BP.
Can I give you a couple of further tips to help stop your kidney function from decreasing further?
Never, ever take ibuprofen or any other NSAID, and stop using salt. (Don't use Lo-Salt either as this is full of potassium)

Don't think Sqad would agree with Mrs O. What painkiller would you recommend ,then?
Jackdaw, Sqad would agree with me...despite his fondness for recommending Ibuprofen.

For anyone with reduced kidney function, paracetamol is fine
Jack......no, you are right......i wouldn't agree with her.......the odd Ibuprofen for headaches etc would do no harm at all.

long term daily use of ibuprofen...then that may be a different kettle of fish.
I take Ibuprofen on a daily basis. Should I revert to Co-codamol?
Jack......if you are taking an ACe inhibitor for your BP and your renal function tests are normal and daily Ibuprofen does the trick..........I would stick with it.
Read this link - scroll down to Side Effects of Ibuprofen.
For anyone with kidney impairment, they must NOT take Ibuprofen

This NHS website link spells it out even clearer =AVOID IBUPROFEN

Sqad, as you well know, the OP has around 50% kidney function and my remarks are aimed at him
Not convinced.

Idf you were being treated fir diagnosed Stage 4,5 or 6 kidney impairment, then i would agree, but for people who's renal function is normal or only Stage 1 or 2...or normal...then no problem.
Well all I can say is that numerous renal consultants must be wrong if you are right
