Most websites view your habits, not just Facebook, Amazon do it as well, so do ebay. Also if Ratter's name has appeared as a friend you may know and he hasn't looked at your FB profile, then isn't that proof that some suggestions come from mutual friends/groups rather than snooping?

I had thought I was agreeing with Retrochic...

In answer to the OP -- they wouldn't know, but with no other apparent connections they might have a reasonable suspicion.
