I Cannot Believe What I Am Reading
A mother chooses to HAVE to keep her daughters locked up at night so that her paedophile husband can live with her. He is considered a danger to children and the police are monitoring the situation. Why would anyone choose to live like that? I only there is never a fire while those girls are locked in their bedrooms.

As a victim of childhood sexual abuse I can assure you that he will find time to be alone with the children, abusers are devious and will engineer occasions where there is not much choice about him looking after them. Even following them to the toilet or kitchen can be enough time for him to get his jollies.
Not being allowed to be alone with the children is different that an opportunity to be alone with them.
As much as the mother parrots the words of love for, to and about her children, She does not love them enough to keep them safe. She does not love them enought to want to ensure they are safe from harm. Understanding unconditional love for the children you bring into this world seems to have been forgotten by this woman.

Because I wasn't believed about my abuser I still had to see him with the family.
Once, visiting him and his wife in their bungalow when I was about eight I went to the toilet. All seemed normal but when I stood up he was leaning in the window behind me. He had unlatched the window earlier but pushed it shut......and, when I went to the loo, he had gone out into the garden to "look at his prize gladioli"...I hate those plants.....pulled the window open quietly and watched me

I told my mother...or tried to with the words I knew as a child...the things he was doing to me well before this.....she took me by the arm and threw me into the outside toilet saying if I ever said those dirty words again I would have to go to live with the nuns.

It would be interesting for Ed to have a poll on just how many ABers have been directly impacted on by paedophiles - or, as in my case, witness to someone having been abused, three of us heading to the headmaster to report the basstard of a second master - immediately sacked but if it was today, he would be doing time, taking photographs of a mate of mine, aged 11, in an old garage, naked of course and pre-pubescent.
