For all those who support Europe and the free movement within it's borders.
Those who wish we signed the Schengen Treaty. Read this horror story. This man,and no doubt many like him,was heading for our country.
Perhaps France may now be a little more choosy who they let enter their Southern coastline.Might benefit us as well.
We need these people like a hole in the head.Seems we have enough of our own home grown sexual deviants without this scum joining us.

/// The problem is that this also discourages the sort of immigration that does claim benefits, which is also the majority of it./// There, fixed it for you. ;)

Well I dont agree with a hard and fast quota, however to keep the infrastructure in place working and to plan one must have some sort of goal. Otherwise you end up with the situation we have at them moment, A&E in some areas knackered and people in Birmingham having to send their primary school kids out of the City. Crazy, just breeds resentment.

The problem any Government would have is that they would be slated if they undershot the Goal by some and slated if they overshot the goal by others.
It seems like ymb and I are saying essentially very similar things, retrocop.
Poor Girl :( This will close communities around the area and make people even more alone. It sad and I feel sick reading this. You can blame immigration all you like but I hardly see the significance. The fact is someone was capable of taking and killing a child off the streets. If we want this to change we either pay more taxes for more policing or give up more freedom and pay taxes for monitoring.

ukanonymous.

If we got out the EU the savings would offset the cost of securing our borders correctly and safely with proper monitoring procedures.
But would it not cause a trade back lash, import/export tax problems and cause mass unemployment?
Question Author
apparently not.Norway are managing quite well with their trading throughout the world.
“I'm not sure that Schengen has anything to do with the boats crossing from Africa. That's a separate issue.”

It may not have anything to do with the boats crossing, Jim, but it has one hell of an effect on what happens to the cargo when they are disgorged ashore on places like Lampedusa. If mainland Europe had robust internal border controls the migrants from Africa would face border checks when they attempt to move out of Italy. Their status as “refugees” (or whatever) could be established and they should be refused admittance to any other country (with the rules on asylum stating that they should present themselves for processing to the authorities in the first safe country in which they arrive). Schengen prevents this. As I have said many times before, Italy makes no effort to process most of these souls and they are happily ushered across the border northwards.

This particular piece of pond life had been banned from France following the completion of his "six year" prison sentence imposed in 2010. But the ban was never enforced because it did not comply with French law. Whether or not the Schengen agreement facilitated the movement of this particular piece of pond life from Poland to France is hard to say. But it certainly made it less difficult.

fender he might be a child rapist murderer but he has to be taken care of for 16 years and kept safe from all the other inmates. It just makes me feel sick. Even IF they should not hang this evil person they should castrate him immediately. Sickening.
