Ipad App Icons Disappeared

Hope someone can help with this problem. The AppStore & jetpack Joyride icons have disappeared from my sister's iPad, her small children may have deleted them accidentally. Have the apps been deleted as well ? Is there any way to restore these apps ? What would Reset home screen layout do ?

Go to the App Store & at the bottom of the page select 'purchased' (works for free apps too) and re-install.

Thank you Sherradk for your answer but the problem is the AppStore icon has disappeared so how can she access the AppStore ?

You cannot remove the App Store icon it is a default. But you can move it. Has it been moved to another page. There will be dots towards the bottom of the screen that relates to how many ages you have. Check All the pages.
