I have downloaded Itunes , after changing my computer now with Windows 7 , and now it will not play a song. A dialogue box comes up saying that Itunes cannot play the song because it can't locate it! Well nor can I , so what can I do ?? I didn't have this problem with my old O S. Cheers Chris

Does it give you the option to look for it manually? Mine does (Even if you haven't changed the location of the file). I just go into the folder and click on the offending item and it's usually OK. It has happened to me quite a few times.

Unfortunately, I'm not running iTunes with Windows 7, so someone else might have to give you the right advice.
Have you changed computers?

Or have you just installed Windows 7?

Did you format the hard disk?

Did you backup your files?

Did you create a new user?

I had this problem and Milvus helped me sort it http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1352928.html

Got a new computer. I had XP and downloaded it and it took all "My music" files and put them into Itunes automatically (all 9 days worth !) It seems to have done the same now but they wont play . Cannot foresee me doing each one manually . It did not ask me if I wanted to import them though , this time . It did it instantly of it's own accord. Maybe I have missed summat ?? Chris

iTunes has a folder called Automatically add to itunes. Anything you put in it will go into itunes. This is located in your itunes library folder.

Before you do that, check the itunes preferences as you set how itjnes organises the files.

If you can find one of your files put it into the Automatically folder then try playing it from itunes.

There is another option - itunes can search the computer for audio files.
