There always seems to be a 'virus' floating about. Years ago, you either got a cold or flu and that was it. Now some of us seem to have continuous viruses.

Are we less healthy now with modern living I wonder.

I can't remember the last time I had a cough, cold, sniffle etc. I'm 63, packed up work last year, I spend a lot of time out and about with the two 'Lumps' in my Avatar, mostly on the Seafront as that's where we live. I think doing all the outdoor things and dealing with Pet Care I'm probably exposed to a few more bugs than some others, and build up an immunity of sorts.
My OH is similar age, works 2 or 3 days a week in Local Hospital, nice and warm etc, and doesn't get a lot of fresh air when she's home, apart from The Archers and Emmerdale, and she enjoys a steady stream of minor colds etc.
I'm sure difference in Lifestyle is contributory

Your lifestyle sounds perfect, Baldric. I would love to live near the sea, though that said, every time we have a day trip or holiday by the sea, my nose gets all stuffed up, not sure why. Thought it would be the opposite.
I don't get colds or flus and I spend most of my time indoors.
working in an office we have a steady stream of parents with pre school and school age children who bring in all sorts of bugs, i'd guess there are at least 2 or 3 staff in every department who are ill at anyone point.

I haven't had a bad cold for ages, i get the sniffles but cider sorts them out....
