The phone is flat & i cant charge it. Ive phoned Orange to trace the owner but they say they cant as its an old sim. Is the mobile number shown on the sim?

You can not call from an old SIM. And it's pointless anyway. Even it that works it just means that you get the number of the SIM which you say is old and therefore presumably not allocated to anyone anymore. Handsets have IMEI numbers to identify them but I'm unsure anyone uses them to register who owns what. Options are to either hand it into the police (good...

Tambo....I would find someone who has this type of phone, re-charge it, and then call some of the numbers stored in it......you should have no difficulty in ascertaining the ID of the owner then.

Not sure about the SIM though.

If it were mine, I would be jolly grateful for its return !
put the sim in a different phone and see if it works

If you take the SIM into an Orange (now EE) shop they may be able to tell you the number on it.
