The reason I asked is because I drove through a section of the M4 in South Wales, where these are in place, at 03:30 this morning and I appeared to be in the minority of drivers who were keeping to sub-50 mph. Its no wonder that this section is catching 700 drivers a week !
all speed cameras work at night. There was an old wives tale in the Irish DM that they wouldn't work at night or in the rain but I have 2 points and an €80 fine for doing 91 in an 80 zone at 21:29 on a Friday evening in January when it was black as the bottom of a pot and spilling rain
Does anyone know how it works - ie over what distance is the average taken? between one camera and the next or over the whole length of the restriction?
// It is from the point you enter the Average Speed Check zone to the point you exit the Average Speed Check Zone. //
Good, so if there's a services in the middle of the zone like there currently is at Watford Gap, I can drive like a maniac - stop for a coffee - and then drive like a maniac. Hurrah!
