Although his challenge was high he did go for the ball. Unlike Gerrard who's was 'afters' with his stamp, not the same thing at all.

arksided, Jones should have been booked in the first half for his tackle on Lallana.

I respect Gerrard as a player, however I agree he may have apologized to Herrera but surly it would have been known if he had.
