Why not ask on a dedicated travel website like trip advisor.. They have forums where you can ask questions.

Yes, I have looked a Tripadvisor, and actually contribute on the site, but thought someone here might have some valuable experience. Never mind.
Oh don't give up, Sam........bit like me.....information and experience from Abers can be so much more reliable and after all this is a question and answer forum too....
I can't help but the odd bump might bring you someone who can....x

Thanks gness. It wasn't a terribly important question, so I will just keep on searching !
trip advisor is from clients who have had experience
I know that, Ivor.....I use it....but if an Aber has experience of a hotel you are thinking of booking it's worth hearing too surely?.......x
Trip advisor is not reliable. It seems to be full of mainly grumpy people that look for things to complain about.

My last holiday I looked up the hotel on trip advisor and it got some awful reviews. Decided to risk it. Turned out to be a lovely hotel.
Exactly, Ummmm.....to get a recommendation on here....or even a negative opinion is really helpful.....

I once stayed somewhere and later found out Psyb had too......it was great but her tips would have been invaluable when I was searching.........x
Try forgetting about 'hotels' and looking for 'hostals' instead. (The 'hostal' I stayed at in Barcelona was lovely and just €22 per night!).

This might suit your needs well:

Thanks Buenchico. That Hostal looks lovely, but reading the reviews I see there are a lot of steps. That would be a problem for me with the osteoarthritis I have in my knees. What a shame. Oh well, I will keep searching.
