Could Atorvastatin be the reason for pain in the top of the arm , just below the shoulder joint ?

Yep, that's where I had mine..... I found that statin caused me serious problems in the big arm muscles, I could barely move my upper arms at one point.

Go back to the doc and ask for a different statin, I've been on several until I found one which suited me.

I had to have physio to start to get the full movement back in my upper arms, that was about four years ago. It took a good year to get back to normal, so please don't live with it, do something about it.
Thanks Bazile and Boxtops, I'll do the same.
I've been through the list, sibs - I'm on Pravastatin these days, with no ill effects. Apparently the side effect is more often pain in the big leg muscles, but arms are not uncommon - and the pain was seriously bad and inhibiting.
It might.............or it might not.

Too easy to blame statins.

How long have you been on statins and in which arm do you get the pain and is it worse on exercise and relieved by rest?
Oo sqad, I looked back at what you said to me 4 years ago..... I too thought I'd strained a muscle, until I realised that it was both arms, all the time.
boxy.......right....;-)
...not being able to reach back and do up one's bra is a serious issue :-)
boxy.......indeed.......I was going to add something else, but decided not to as i got a post "pulled" yesterday for upsetting some poor sensitive soul on that very topic..........women's underwear....;-)
Sorry Baz, I didn't mean to hi-jack your post. The pain I have is left arm shoulder to elbow.
I don't think you're hijacking, sibs, it seems a common problem.
Just typed a long answer and laptop died.
Boxy, thank you. I'm going to take a week off rosuvastatin, continue with irbesartan and Glucophage. I'll see if it helps but then, at least, I'll be able to ask for all 3 at the same time.
I was put on statins many years ago when I had a panic combined with white coat syndrome and, believe me, I was terrified of her!
