dave50 there are plenty of home grown 'takers' who turn their noses up at work. They are the ones who should be made to work. We are having trouble at the moment getting laborers -they work a few days then just don't turn up -go into the local town and there are plenty of fit young British men sitting on steps smoking and playing with their iPhones with no intentions...

One eye on AB and one on TV lol.....i feel for these folk i really do. Some people are trying to give their kiddies a good life.

If they want to come and do the jobs brits dont want to they can be my guest!!

Their kiddies could be our next generation of medics or firefighters police etc u never know xx
Too depressing seeing our hard earned taxes abused by this soft gov!
I've just checked my sky box and I've taped three episodes and not managed to watch any of them :(

(But then again, I also appear not to have watched the Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2013!)
Nothing new. I remember 30 years ago on the Paris Metro having to keep my hands firmly in my pockets when approached by Romanian children, none of whom could have been more than 10. They used to cunningly conceal their arms under newspapers so they could dip your pocket.

Its an issue coming & claming benefits etc....but to work?

Its sad really. They were living in THE PITTS....a dump x
I take that comment back as this episode shows potential workers. Lets hope they earn enough to pay tax.

Tambo in this eposide it showed the guys working in a warehouse...the manager said he is NEVER approached by locals for a job.....

??? Because of the early start and low pay.....so this guy is making in four days under £200..... Takes him 3months to make the same in romania....

Personally if they want to work...let em! I didnt know this was a series though!! Must record xx
Just watched it. Very sympathetic view, I thought. All of them were very decent, intelligent and personable blokes. As you say, picked up jobs(the British turn their noses up at) within hours of landing here.
Not sure how representative it was of the reality for many of our immigrants.
Question Author
Agreed svejk!!

I know not everyone is here to work... But these folks are delighted to accept jobs that some of us turn our noses up at- so let them
Come here, work hard & contribute- like i say who knows their young could be the next generation of good x
It's all very well saying how great it is that they are coming here to work but they will be on minimum wage and when they have families they will be entitled to tax credits and all sorts of other benefits like schools and health care so they are still net takers.

We are having trouble at the moment getting laborers -they work a few days then just don't turn up -go into the local town and there are plenty of fit young British men sitting on steps smoking and playing with their iPhones with no intentions what-so-ever of looking for or even wanting work -that's the issue.I wish I could find some Romanians to fill our positions they are damn good workers.
Eastern Europeans coming here put much more in than they take out. Sorry, can't give a link to clarify, but it's been mentioned many times on news and current affairs programmes.
