Hi,
took my kia in for 1st mot this am,which ment my getting out of the pit at 8 am,which used to be when I started work,was told car was not beeing 'seen to'
till afternoon,so was 'given' a car to use and have same amount of petrol as when took car,a micra.Drove less than2 miles,towards Asda,at the2nd nearest roundabout ran out of fuel!thankfully 2 kind chaps pushed car off to a side road & phoned garage.needless to say,did not return car empty.many thanks to the kind chaps whoever they were,faith in people restored!!!!!!

Thank goodness they rescued you Petal, well done to them.

A bad move from the garage to leave you so little fuel though.

I think it's fairly common practice nowadays for garages to rely on the honesty of customers to replace the fuel they've used. The alternatives are to charge per mile or supply with a full tank and charge you to fill it on return (always causes arguments). The problem is that you can only put a minimum amount of fuel in so, with a car that does say 60mpg and all you do is take it 2 miles home and bring it 2 miles back, what do you do. After a few people have put none in you're always the guy that gets it empty.
