I gave up tuning in to this "show" aaaages ago ........ but for those of you that keep tuning in, listen to Finland's entry and ask yourself WHY ??

Okay, all the members of Finland's entry have learning disabilities and the song is about having to do mundane tasks, such as washing-up - but this shouldn't be used as an excuse to give them an advantage over the rest of the entries.

If this wins (or even comes close) .... well ..... I don't know what I'll do .... maybe it's worth a punt at the bookies lol ??

What do ya reckon ??

Who said they wanted their, disabilities to be an advantage.? They're merely highlighting the difficulties faced by their own kind which tend to be made more difficult by people with attitudes like yours.
I'll take that any day over "making your mind up" ... or "save your kisses for me" or (if truth be told) almost any of the parade of ineptitude that is the UK entrants ...

jeezz - what a load of old cobblers we have produced.

I never said that they wanted their disabilities to be an advantage, I said, "this shouldn't be used as an excuse to give them an advantage over the rest of the entries".
Unfortunately, I can see people (myself NOT included) sympathising with them and voting for them; whereas, if this was a band comprising people that didn't have learning difficulties, they wouldn't have a cat in hell's chance.
I know what you're saying Zac, but I'm not thinking like that - merely pointing out what other's may think and how it may affect how they vote .....
Oh Lordi,

Hang on, that was the group name of Finland's only success, in '06!

Anything is possible in Eurovision....

Ok Giz, I take your point but as you've already pointed out TESC is a farce so maybe it needs a sensible fascet to bring back some credibility. Would it be so bad if they won and a worthwhile cause was given publicity? Or would you rather it continue as the meaningless circus that it is?

Yea I saw that as well agchristie .... and it won .... which is why I asked, "maybe it's worth a punt at the bookies lol ??"

Maybe .... just maybe ....
I was given a tip off back in '95 that the Norwegian entry would win at odds of 50/1.

It was virtually an Instrumental....and it won!
I don't think Eurovision is That, mad. But then, you never know.

It's an awful song.

Hmmm ..... 2nd favourite to win according to: http://www.oddschecker.com/tv/eurovision/winner
This is a difficult one.

Do you applaud them for trying, and overcoming their difficulties, or do you say that they are taking the chance of a band who could win on merit, rather than a sympathy vote.

Whichever way you slice it, the drummer is off the beat, so the whole thing sounds more laboured than it needs to - and I don't like the song at all.

But hey - it's Eurovision - all sensible approaches are off!
I like it! I had heard Finland were "breaking the mould" (is there one?) with a punk entry, but hadn't realised there was more to it

I wish them well - I have always held a hope (in vain I know) that Finland would field 'Turisas' one time. They're great.
Bring back Kaija Karkinen!

Mamyalynne - "I wish them well - I have always held a hope (in vain I know) that Finland would field 'Turisas' one time. They're great."

Trust me, you would not have all the contestants watching the voting together as you usually do - Turisas don't go for dry-cleaning those goat skins they wear on stage, so even when they are not playing, they still hum!
i thought it a dreadful song but it'll win .
Factor?
