It won't work, the hob will switch itself off

Really!?? I have no clue about this! Ive never checked any other pans- i just noticed this by chance after i bought it! Oh well then!

Thank u x
induction hobs only work with selected induction hob pans
Cast iron and steel pans work with induction hobs. My ancient stainless steel pressure cooker works just fine.
Aluminium and copper pans don't work, unless they have a bonded bottom of steel or cast iron.
Having never heard of an induction hob, I googled it out of curiosity. Along the way, I found this that may be of help to you:

You'll need to use 'ferrous pans' - in other words, pans that contain iron - on an induction hob.

As a general rule of thumb, if your pots and pans stick to a magnet they'll work on an induction hob.
