what is about the supporters of Islam than makes their position so weak it won't stand any sort of criticism?
IT WOULD SAN
Oops - take two ...

It would Sandy, but I guess a major part of having the courage of your convictions is being willing to stand up for them personally - but what a terrible price to pay.
Not in any way can this be anywhere as tragic to this horrible and sadistic slaughter, but are not Christians attacked by atheists all the time?

Indeed we are, AOG. But I never fear for one moment that even the most vociferous of the goodly unGodly would want to refute my faith at the point of a knife.
There's no end to these Religion of Peace stories, is there?
Will our 'liberal' defenders of Islam ever admit there's something fundamentally wrong with the whole 'religion'.
And please don't come back with those tired, fatuous IRA/Catholic comparisons.
Isn't religion wonderful !
Makes you wonder if avowed atheists would be safe at the Qatar World Cup? I think they also have death penalty for apostasy.

Is it possible to tour the world without getting done in for *not* believing in anything, these days?

Those nasty Israelis will be launching unprovoked attacks on the defenceless Palestinians soon.

Where does all the building material come from?

@Svejnk

That link points to a story marking 6 months of ceasefire and aid money held in abeyance in case Hamas misuses it. Nothing about attacks or building materials??

lol, read the next link. 'In case they misuse it'. As if.
@ Hypo,

///Makes you wonder if avowed atheists would be safe at the Qatar World Cup? I think they also have death penalty for apostasy. ///

Is this a variation on 'sudden death' in the event that the scores are still level after a penalty shoot out? ;-)
Nice one ag!
@ag

I wasn't expecting humour in response and now I don't know what to say, other than something dull, like "penalty shootouts don't end with scores level".

@Svejk

I hope I'm not unique in that, while I don't like the way Israel treats Palestinians (non-hostil civilians, that is), I also don't like the militants, depicted in that article. What part of "the Ottoman Empire fell years ago and your country was conquered" do they not understand?

If conquest "doesn't count" then the Ottomans and their predecessors' ownerships didn't count either. Therefore, return the land to its original owners. (Cue argument about who "woz here first").

This is how archaeologists and DNA labs get ensnared in politics.
