Talk about hypocrites! Of course this is something we have known for a long time but has been confirmed by a Global Report.

This is the Party who enshrined the Human Rights Bill into our legislation.

And before some of start shouting "Daily Mail, must be lies' it's in other papers

Er going by the a Daily a Mail report your own headline is somewhat extravagant.
// Detainees claim they were ill-treated with the knowledge of British agents//

That statement does not automatically mean that parliament knew what was going on. Again this is a Daily Wail attempt to deride the Labour Party.

ichkeria,
Maybe you need to read the opening paragraph again in the link:

A global report last night made a blistering attack on the UK Government for its ‘evasion, denial and delays’ over establishing the truth about Britain’s complicity in torture.

Nothing 'extravagant' about the OP at all!
Could the Mail have shot themselves in the foot with such a story attempting to do down Labour? There are those who might say, 'More power to their elbow', particularly when those being abused were suspected Islamic terrorists.

Jack Straw's recent actions and his misleading of a Commons Select Committee whilst in office that have been recently exposed mean he's doing that all by himself at the moment.

How can you say the Government didn't know about it. When Blair was kissing Gaddaffi in the tent he was promising to route out Gaddafi opponents and have them extradited to Libya. Can't get more complicit than that!!!

Whiskeyron

I forgot, the Guardian and ilk never attack the Tories I they???

Your headline suggests that something has been proved by someone. Whereas that doesn't appear to be the case,
Delay in establishing the truth: exactly. But we don't know what the truth is. It is heartening to see so many unlikely suspects though leaping to the defence of some unlikely people :-)
you need to beware of any Daily Mail that anyone is "savaged" - they just make it up

Not so they are just reporting on fact, and not laying the blame at any particular party's door.

Just read their readers views.

Nobody's really discussed th torture.
Theyre prisoners of war, captured in Afganistan. As 'claimed' Brit subjects what were they doing there? Who are we in UK to interfere in means of gathering info from prisoners in offshore prisons.

Do they expect a supply of mars bars?

Tambourine

What were they doing on British Territory then? Don't tell me the
Labour Government didn't know. Obviously you think torture is justified?

This is from your beloved Guardian.

Oh I dunno. I reckon trying to join the war on the side of ISIS trumps Blair, at least he was on the right side.

I assume you were referring to the naive idea that we should help the opponents of Assad in Syria. Stupid idea but it never happened. Unlike the disastrous wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Nobody knew at the time that opponents of Assad would morphe into the most brutal regime in history! I'm not making excuses for Cameron, he went off half cocked so thank goodness for our Parliamental system. Blair was once asked when he was going to discuss a really important issue regarding Iraq to the Caninet he answered "What's it got to do with them?
Boy, the rose tinted specs on here are deep black today.
