I had a phone and tablet that both worked on a sim card. No problem. Changed suppliers, got same phone and tablet but no sim card for tablet and it will apparently only work in hotspot, so how can I use it? Can I somehow link it to my phone? Its not good to me for using at work as no wifi there. Can you get a dongle type thing for a tablet?

Can the MIFI thingy from argos be used and do you plug it in or just have it near to the tablet? I want to get emails and facebook for a couple of hours two or three times a week while at work in the evening - roughly how much would that cost me to top up? Is there any way of knowing or is it suck it and see?
What phone do you have? Some phones have wifi hotspot capabilities using your 3G or 4G data allowance. Turn the hotspot on and connect your tablet wirelessly

Well what a surprise.

What did you expect, that it would somehow magically work without a sim?

A tablet with no sim card in it will only work where there is wi fi nearby.

What I expected was to be sent a sim card with it, like the previous one I had! The phone is a Samsung Galaxy Flame.
You need to speak to your provider if you haven't had the sim card you expected
