The Voice

I watched the Voice for the first time last week.
Some of the acts were quite good. However, and
I know this is daft, but what is the point of the programme.
Does someone win something ?

Supposedly a recording contract - not that any of the previous winners have been heard of since!

They are building 4 teams at present. Over the course of the series they will eventually compete against each other to get one winner. Naturally simply getting to the early stage should be a boost to getting bookings should they be wanting to perform further.

yes a supposed contract but i always thought that because they cannot see who is singing then they judge on the singing rather than what a person looks like, unlike alot of other contests which can see whether someone looks like a future star. so in a nutshell it goes against the norm they only judge initially on ability rather than what you look like
