Hi techies. Now don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Publisher but I've used it for years to write a local society newsletter (still using 2003, what me cheap?)
Now I've migrated my laptop to Xubuntu and love it, but I could do with a program that is similar to Publisher mainly for the speed of production.
I've tried Scribus - way too complex for me, not obvious enough.
So I wondered if anyone has any suggestions that may ease my transition.

You could consider Open Office which is often recommended in Answerbank.

Hans, LibreOffice comes bundled with all ubuntu Wordalike program (write) and a graphics + image program (draw) but no layout program as such.
Write has all the disadvantages of MS Word for anything beyond simple layout.
