I've recently been getting indigestion (for the past week or so) and I can't for the life of me get shut of it.

Apart from that death sandwich I had the other day, I don't eat too bad and certainly not fatty acidic food.

I'm currently taking: Hyoscine buylbromide, lansoprazole, vitamin B12, acamprosate, cyclizine, domperidone, fluoxetine, tramadol, paracetamol, oxycodone, beclometasone dipropionate, ranitidine and thiamine. (copied from a previous post to save you having to look).

Any ideas? Is it known to be prescribed more than one PPI inhibitor? I've tried Omeprazole instead of lansoprazone and it isn't making the slightest bit of different.

Get an endoscopy if you haven't yet been offered one. Then you'll know what you're up against. Endoscopy is nothing to worry about btw.
Are you taking lansoprazole an hour before food?
It isn't just fatty and acidic foods that can irritate it further, there are many and each person is set off my different food groups and/or one food in particular - tea, coffee, fizzy drinks, chocolate, nuts, tomatoes - the list can be seemingly endless
Being overweight wont help either, if you are
Go back to your GP

Cheers for the replies.

I've had 2 OGD's (Oesophago-gastro duodenoscopy) in the last 6 months. One with and one without sedation - both as unpleasant but not as unpleasant as the colonoscopy without any sedation what so ever.

They found nothing.

Pixie: Yes I take it before food.

ojread2: I don't drink tea or coffee, completely cut out drinking fizzy drinks and I don't eat tomatoes, or chocolate (sometimes but very rarely). I'm still getting indigestion even if I don't eat anything.

I'm 5'10" and weigh 13 stone - so I am technically overweight I suppose.
I am no expert but I think the large variety of pills that you are taking could be the cause of the problem . I would get your doctor to go through your medication list and see if some adjustments can be made.

andres: Not a bad idea to be honest since half of my medication was prescribe by a consultant at the hospital and the other by my GP and Mental health clinic consultant. I don't really think they know what the other is doing. My GP still isn't aware that my Fluoxetine has been increased to 60mg - they still think I'm only on 20mg and I've not been on that dose for over 2 months.

Dizmo, please talk to someone about all that medication as soon as you can.Methyl is right . Take your prescription list and ask the pharmacist's advice. Then you can get your doctor to make some changes.

Cheers you two. I have spoken to the pharmacist (about a week or so ago) and she couldn't see a problem with the medication. However it was a different pharmacist to who I usually see. I'm also going to lean on my support worker a little as well - he's been so good to me with regards making doctors appointments and moving forward in general.

I just wondered if anyone has ever tried using to PPI's. In the past it wouldn't bother me to try it and take more than one. However because of the severity of my pancreatitis attacks, I can't risk it. I've spent too long stuck in isolated hospital rooms having to twiddle my thumbs and make origami.

I'm only 29 and I've been on tramadol, 30/500mg co-codamol and oxycodone for over the past 10-12 years (not all at once, well not until now minutes the co-codamol). It isn't good for my body and I'm finally getting somewhere. There is a light at the end of the tunnel :)

I'd like to say again that I do appreciate your advice. There are so many others out there that have it so much harder than me.
