OBELUS
FAO Margo Tester, DannyK etc. what do you think of the new system of sending results (ie today how many letters 'i' appear in the xword) to a text number?

Has anybody EVER won anything by entering this xword's results by whatever means?
Hi Corylus - I 've never entered any results, I just do it for fun, so I can't help I'm afraid. At least they seem to have sorted the problem of the two puzzles overlapping.
I'd like to know how they give the three different methods of entry an equal chance of winning. Having said that, the Express Big Monday £1,000 crossword did something similar last year, where they coloured in some of the squares, the letters of which could then be arranged into a word. You could then just phone or text this word, or send the completed grid in. I continued to send the grid in as before.....and won! So it's possible, but I'd still like to know how they collate the entries.
Just wondering, I do this xword and sometimes if I'm distracted make an error in filling in a clue. So that ruins any chance of sending it in correctly, now it seems that just counting a few letters will suffice. So will we be getting the number of letters counted and required now to submit by about 9 am every Sunday by the Brains?
