To sell them or use as firewood?

I bought 2nd hand replacements @ £10ea. But discovered lots at local tip. Hardly worth the trouble imo
More likely they were damaged in a fight and removed because they were hanging off their hinges.
possibly they like the freedom of movement with out them but doors are there also to close at night to stop any smoke from spreading if there's a fire

The DHSS no longer exists. Job seekers come under the Dept of Employment and Education.
Wrong department, Marshwarble.

The DHSS originally morphed into the DSS. The 'welfare' section of the former DSS now comes under the Department for Work & Pensions.

Why would anyone remove doors? Perhaps to ensure that their pets have freedom of movement? (e.g. it's not much use having a cat flap in a kitchen door, for example, if your cat keeps getting shut in a bedroom by your kids. You end up with the cat peeing in your bedroom). Or perhaps because they could only afford to switch the heating on in one room but wanted to ensure that sufficient heat reached other rooms to keep the chill off? Or perhaps because they simply got fed up of their kids slamming the doors all the time?

Gas CH & no pets as terms of tenancy. Only DSS tenants have removed doors. Ive had private tenants without this problem, hence my query.

1 parent fams is mother with kids on DSS. Usually a secure income, when/if they pay.
Not meant to sound sarcastic Tambo, but have you asked them?
odd. coincidence perhaps? So it doesn't apply to father with kids, no mother?

No horseshoes coz both lots have been re-homed in council properties. I find tenants & councils nick em - lol

I knew of a situation once where the staircase was removed. You're lucky.

we removed some doors in a house we had in Surrey (purchased not rented) be ause it gives more wall space in the rooms and makes the house feel more spacious too
