Do you know something about the parents that we don't know or have you made that sweeping judgment from one poorly taken photograph?

my thoughts exactly. A child dies and all people produce in response is malice and ignorance. Classy.
//from Dolau// just a stones throw from me here in Wales. Tiniest little village, I didnt even think it was inhabited! you need to careful straying out into those parts, you are likely to end up hanging upside down in a barn with your legs tied together!
It does have a delightful railway station though :-) http://www.jlb2011.co.uk/walespic/archive/980904h.jpg
I'm not making judgements on a picture of the parents. It could have been caused by some sort of inability to absorb Vit C, I suppose. What I will contribute is that, when we moved from being an Upper School to a Middle & Upper school, it was very soon noticed that some children could only eat crisps, etc. aged 8. That was all they were used to.
Oh my god ratter - you mean Dolau is the place where they have a sheep tethered to a lamppost and a handwritten note above it:

Leisure Centre.....

and the local shepherd was heard boasting he had 200 lovers....

sozza the subject is scurvy.....
To put everyone's mind at rest

selective gut inability to absorb Vit C isn't really er in the textbooks as a cause of anything because it doesn't exist

yeah yeah I know there will now be 200 posts of " sez know-all !"
A little more detail in this report that explains why no one at school noticed anything untoward - Dylan and his brother were home educated.

"...inquest heard how neither of his parents had sought medical attention for Dylan because they believed he was merely suffering from growing pains, for which they gave him painkillers...."

Dylan analgesic medication probably doped him into continual sleep. The parents were systematically killing him.

ummmm, we still have a school nurse, not permanently on site but based across a couple of local schools. They do a lot of work with the children and are involved with all matters of safeguarding. We also have hearing and sight tests, plus dental checks for the KS1. I wonder if it's only select areas that have this support?
