There is obviously going to be a lesbian story line. There was a reference to it early last year but I missed it by a country mile. I don't think it is needed in this program.

Between whom?
I sincerely hope not.
Question Author
It appears to be Patsy not sure of other lady. A rather tired and overused story line.
Nah....Can't see that......
Really? Oh good.

There were lesbians around in the 50s and 60s, you know...

Question Author
I just thought with all the possible story lines that this was a rather tired/overused storyline.
Quite a few on here have read the book/s -was that storyline in those?

I think the series seeks to show society and all it's different angles and the struggle for acceptance in many cases,be interesting to see how they handle the topic.

'Tired and overused story line'? It will show what Lesbians and Homosexuals had to put up with in the 1960's and how far we've come. This week there will be a story line about a homosexual along with the on going indication that the nurse patsy is in a lesbian relationship. Anyone who has a problem with this perhaps should look at the reasons why. Its a great program and cuts through the idea of the 'swinging sixties' and shows the sixties weren't all carnaby street and designer mini skirts. I find the grunting and grinding and having babies more off putting than seeing two women kiss.
I have read all the books by Jennifer Worth and don't recall any lesbian storyline. However, there has been a lot of variation from the original books so if the writers want to put one in, they can. It's a shame that the author is no longer around - I think she'd be very happy with most of the series.
We are so swamped with soaps etc that it is almost inevitable that themes will be tired and overused unfortunately.
Question Author
Definitely do not have a problem with it!
I love this programme -I was in tears last week with the story line on those poor little kids left to defend for themselves. Everything they do is good and not overworked so I am looking forward to seeing how this develops.
Agreed,it is fabulous to watch.
I missed it. I shall watch it on catch up. New series of Top Gear clashes with it.
What was the kids mother supposed to be doing when she went to work do you think Retrochic? Was she a lady of the night?
BFs accused us of being lezzies to get a leg-over....nowt changes ;)
