From their website: "British Influence is the campaign to keep Britain in a reformed EU. We are a cross-party organisation who believes that Britain is better off in a better Europe." That's enough BS for me not to take them seriously.

So this organisation (which no doubt we pay for) suggests.
I can think of a much more likely reason for the rise of anti-Semitism.
According to the website:

//An independent organisation, we are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, any Government, political party or European institution. Our activities are entirely funded by donations from the private sector.//

I found the results of the survey by the European Jewish Congress quite confusing. It gives no indication (as far as I can see) of the number of people surveyed, but simply says they were British and aged between 18 and 35. I'm still trying to work it out.

Really Svejk ? So all sensible folk are deemed anti-Semitic ? I hadn't realised that was the criteria.
OG, I get the impression that this organisation, whose sole purpose appears to be to encourage our continued membership of the EU, will grasp at any straw.
/// part of the magical mosaic that is modern Britain. ///

The 'magical mosaic', so that's what it is called is it?

/// Last week also marked 50 years since Winston Churchill’s death. Sir Nicholas Soames MP, together with British Influence, launched the Churchill Prize to celebrate what his grandfather’s legacy means for Britain’s relationship with Europe today. ///

Nothing wrong with having a 'RELATIONSHIP' with Europe, but we should fight with all our might against being 'RULED' by Europe.
// OG, I get the impression that this organisation, whose sole purpose appears to be to encourage our continued membership of the EU, will grasp at any straw //

Yes. I think they did a survey a while back that concluded if you were against the EU then you're the kind of person that likes to stamp on kittens.
// British Influence is a cross-party pro-EU pressure group based in the United Kingdom. The group was founded in 2012 to make the case for the European Union amid increasing calls for British withdrawal from the EU.

Its co-presidents are Danny Alexander, Kenneth Clarke and Peter Mandelson. //

So not exactly impartial.
Yep, the pro-Europe supporters clearly are desperate.
Tosh, I am not anti-Semitic but I am anti EU.

Like it or not if we left Europe we would still have the EU and would moreover be unable to have any say in it.
So we would effectively be ruled by it :-)
And don't think immigration would stop either: it would not
Sometimes it actually does pay to have a look at who SOME of the anti EU voices actually are.
And who MOST of the pro EU element are.
Most normal and sensible politicians believe in our membership of the EU at least in some form
Which ought to be a clue.
At this point of course conspiracy theorists and the like peel off and cry that most politicians are 'feathering their own nests' Especially the UKIP MEPs perhaps when they are done claiming their expenses like everyone else :-)
I am VERY anti EU but I'm anything but anti Semitic. My best friends are Jewish.
...and gromit is almost exactly the other way round janbee, so I'd say it's load of old pony.
And ichkeria's post is even more Old Pony TTT.

I can't even be bothered to argue with such unadulterated rubbish. Unbelievable and very insulting.
Forty years ago I fell for Heath and Wilson's load of old pony. Shan't make the same mistake a second time if I'm given the chance.
Old ponies may be old, but they are often reliable :-)
All the dull reasons for being a member of the EU send me to sleep too, but they are good ones :-)
// and gromit is almost exactly the other way round //

You are a plonker sometimes TTT.
// Most normal and sensible politicians believe in our membership of the EU at least in some form //

These would be same ones who were telling us how great it would be to join the Eurozone not so long ago.
// These would be same ones who were telling us how great it would be to join the Eurozone not so long ago. //

To be fair to the politicians, Brown kept us out of the Eurozone for 13 years, and Osborne has had no desire for us to join.

When the €uro was created, our politicians adopted a wait and see attitude. We have waited, and the €uro hasn't really worked as hoped. There hasn't really anyone in the last 5 years pushing to join the EuroZone.
Gromit

You are being insulting again Gromit, something you warned me about, you as a Mod should know that the ED doesn't like it.
