It is taking perfect pictures indoors but when I am taking pictures outside they are coming really light almost ghost like as though it us taking in to much light but us fine when in video mode, can anyone help please.

Accidentally set the exposure compensation to over expose? From the manual "Press "arrow up" until [EXPOSURE] appears,
compensate the exposure with left/right arrows.
• Select [0 EV] to return to the original exposure."

Have you set the ISO to a high value? auto-iso works in most circumstances.

My FZ8 has recently started doing the opposite. Pictures inside and outside are fine; but video outside looks very washed out.
