I do enjoy this programme, it has drama, comedy, adult themes, nice scenery and the acting of the cast is brilliant.

You never know what is going to happen next, like the father of the baby entering the story, and whatsits ex husband cracks me up, with his bumbling & muttering.

I cant remember what Ive seen the women who lives on the farm and her boyfriend in before, anybody know?

The boyfriend was a policeman in life of Mars can't remember his name though
The boyfriend was in Life on Mars and Ashes to ashes.
She was in an episode of Luther. I was trying to remember last night.

She's done loads of stuff though...

Nicola walker, she was on spooks and Four weddings and a funeral. The actor is dean Andrews
It's a great programme. The ex husband is an absolute prat isn't he. Last one next week, let's hope there will be another series
I enjoyed it too. Sarah Lancashire showed what a good aim she has when slinging stuff down the stairs at her ex! Calamity plays her part well too watching whoever's speaking and last night making sure that she got her food from the spoon quickly even though her mother was speaking to the others round the table.
Sorry, I know loads of people love this programme as I did in the beginning, but feel it's turning into a soap so just switch off now.
"turning into a soap"....what does that mean? The proper term for a soap is "a continuing drama"....and Last Tango certainly has that...so was it a soap all along?
I couldn't agree more, gingerbee. Why do people seem to sneer at "soaps?"

As gingerbee said, a soap is a continuing drama therefore, any fictitious story about a group of characters, is a soap.

Such renowned dramas like, The Forsyte Saga, Poldark, Broadchurch etc would fall into that category.

LTIH is well written, fantastically acted, drama. End of, in my opinion.
Anne Reid has said there will be another series and maybe a one off special but no more after that. She says you have to leave it while it is at the top.
Thanks Caran, glad to hear there will be more Halifax. British TV at its very best!!!
Question Author
Wasn't Anne Reid, the wife of Ken Barlow in the early days of Corrie?
Agree with majority. I also loved At Home With The Braithwaites, by the same author. Wish they would re-show it.
Trt - yes she was. She was also in the brilliant Dinnerladies with Victoria Wood et al.
Also among her recent roles she played the part of Lucy Mottershead in "Our Zoo". This told the story of George Mottershead who establsihed Chester Zoo. Lucy was George's mother.

Anne Reid is a superb actor who shines in everything she does.
Hard to believe she is almost 80. She seems to working harder now than ever
