p.s what is the easiest bird to teach to tall - a parrot / minor bird / parakeet perhaps
//what is the easiest bird to teach to tall - a parrot / minor bird / parakeet perhaps// An African Grey Parrot is the best talker, I think it is the male that talks the best but I should check on that.

It's the Female that talks most!

MARRIAGE
It is noteworthy to remember that both species need to benefit from the relationship to be symbiotic.

It all depends what you mean with 'easy'. Most parrots pick up a few words without teaching them, even in an aviary. Mynah birds CAN make the best talkers but they are not as clever as an African Grey Parrot which can related it's words to visual objects. Not an easy thing to do for a bird. The Conures are well known for learning long passages of songs, both singing and whistling.
Mynah birds are chatty, they pick up speech quickly. My sister used to have one. I'm not sure it's actually legal to own one in the UK though.
we bought a mynah from a pet shop a few years ago. we heard they were great talkers. anyway, it could only do a piercing nonstop space invaders imitation. drove us crazy. would/could not learn anything else. we read they could only learn up to 2yo. flippin thing cost us £80 with cage (over thirty years ago). Sold it back to the shop for half. I think it was £80. sounds a lot now.
If you rescue a crow when it's young, or a jackdaw I believe they can learn to talk.
