Has there been any research on the effects these might have on the health of their users?
As they don't produce tar it's likely they couldn't be as bad as ordinary cigarettes.

If I lit a cigarette my son would chase me with a water pistol....

I bought my daughter in Devon a shed so I could have a ciggie.....but she filled it with stuff so I still stood under a brolly........☺
Gness - thanks not into this at all. How many batteries do you need then? One last thing, sorry to pester you, are these only available on line?
Margo, you can buy e-cigs in most supermarkets now.
Margo....I bought my first on offer in W.H.Smith.....battery, cartridge and the thing you stick in a plug or your laptop.

You really need one battery on charge and one in use if you decide to stick with them.

Nicolites are available in supermarkets and corner shops but they are really unreliable.

I just order now from Smoke Relief....no failed cartridges and next day delivery so far.

If I were you I'd go with the £9.95 to make sure you like them....

And if you do....hide your lighter....old habits die hard and I have set fire to the ends of two........☺
Margo, my daughter has had an E-cig for ages and she is quite satisfied with it.She smokes in the same room as me and I cannot detect any smell etc.
Hi Tilly. - I read somewhere, or somebody told me that vapour cigs are better but I'm not sure which are which. Which ones do you use?
There is no smell at all is there, Danny............I still wouldn't use them where cigarettes are banned but at home if I'm not knitting or sewing it occupies my fidget hands.....
Thank you all so very much for your help - I am going to do it!! Gness you make me laugh, just the sort of thing I would do. Will report back on my progress
Good Luck.....♣
## I am seriously thinking about giving these a whirl, anybody got any advice as to the best ones? Very good morning to everybody. ##

I have been using them for 18 months, and they are really good.

I don't use the large vapor ones, I use the ones that look like a ciggie and called VIP, and buy online..

I use the English tobacco higher strength, and can be charged from your laptop or PC.
Margot, I just typed a really long answer to you and then my wi-fi failed! In short, I use Vype e cigs. I got the starter pack from Sainsburys. I did have a vape stick but didn't really get on with it. It made me dizzy.

I wish you well.

IMO, I think the large vapour ones look like those bubble pipes they use in Turkey and Casablanca, without the bottle and tube.
Thanks Tilly and Trt. I think I will try a starter pack of each and see how I get on - or as the saying goes suck it and see! What a helpful lot you all are xx
PS. Tilly we will have to try and meet up when the weather gets a bit warmer.
E cigs are not 'banned' in pubs it is down t each individual manager or landlord to allow them or not, 2 of the 5 pubs in my town allow them.

They seem to be a good substitute for the real thing. The one I got is an Evod and I use Turkish flavoured liquid in it. Only complaint is the battery needs recharging fairly often.
I think a smoker could make the transition onto these without any problems. But absent mindedly trying to light the end isn't recommended.
