thanks Mamya my arithmetic is awful ! that's why I can never budget !
Don't know about beef but if I were you I'd get the sprouts on now on a low gas, ready for Xmas.
You're welcome.
I'd cook it for 1 hour 45 minutes, then let it rest for 20 mins loosely covered in foil.
What's the calculation/formula you need to use please Dee Sa?
^ I want to see if I can help with the arithmetic for future reference as I'm sure the posters above know more about cooking than I do.
Dee....invest in a meat thermometer.
Perhaps you've gone wrong in calculating the minutes into hours Dee.
I always find if I follow the instructions on meat packaging it'll be overcooked.
^ I meant converting rather than calculating.
2.25 kg is about 5 lb. At 20 mins a pound plus 20 mins I get 120 mins or two hours. Sorry. I still work in imperial.
I would do it for no longer than 90 mins (I like beef fairly rare) then rest for about 29 mins.
20 mins lol
20 minutes per pound plus 20 minutes. Then let it rest for a while.
cook it covered in foil for about 1 hr 50 mins and then let it rest for 25-30 mins still covered. should be tender and rare.
5 hours is perfectly correct if you have a slow cooker. It will be perfect.
